Hi Stunnel Users,
I would like to ask a question on the binaries provided for windows and their dependencies.
So far i never experienced problems, when using it on a microsoft-OS. I can not remember I ever had to install additional software for stunnel to run properly. Recently I installed stunnel 5.23 to 2 windows 2003 R2 servers.
One of them had the .Net Frameworks 2.0, 3.5 and 4 installed, the other none of them.
The stunnel on the machine with the NET framworks installed worked perfectly.
After installation on the machine w/o the NET frameworks, stunnel refused to start with the "The system cannot execute the specified program." (via cli) and via gui a window popped up, which said "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstall the application may fix this problem."
I searched on
a few stunnel build manuals, and it seems everything is written in C-Code right?
I tried installing .NET Framework 2.0 (altough i was not sure it would change something, as it does not help with C programs afaik)
The application still responded with "The system cannot execute the specified program." from the commandline.
So i uninstalled stunnl 5.23 and tried installing the new 5.24 installer, which then worked flawlessly.
I doubt the NET Framework 2.0 did the trick, what do you think?
Best Regards,
Michael
