Ah HAH -- I did not have an "App password" created, but in the spirit of Easter egging, I enabled that, created one, named it Eudora...and lo, it works!
So, Joe--try this:
1) Log onto Yahoo (on the web, doh) 2) Click on your name (top right-ish on screen) 3) Select "Settings" 4) Click "Account Security" on left 5) Scroll to bottom, find "Manage app passwords" 6) Click that, drop down "Select your app" and click "Other App" 7) Name it (since it wants you to) and click "Generate" 8) Copy and paste the resulting password into the password box in Eudora, including the spaces
Note that I did NOT need the "sslVersion = TLSv1.2" statement in the stunnel entry: the [name], client, accept, and connect statements were sufficient.
And, once I told Eudora to save passwords (since I don't actually use Eudora any more, I have it on my machine only to test stuff for my wife and hadn't set that!) I can close and reopen it and it does not need a new password for Yahoo. (The first time it didn't remember it I thought "O no, I'll have to do this every time, that's no good!" but then thought "I wonder if Eudora isn't set to remember passwords at all. I set that in Eudora's options, closed and reopened, and it prompted again: that makes sense, in retrospect, though it could have been more intuitive. I had to enter the password AFTER the option was set.)
Let us know how this works out, eh?
And many thanks to Javier for his suggestions--they were the key!

Hi, this is for both.
I'm reviewing the mails sent to the list and definetly this is a Yahoo side issue, not a Stunnel issue, by the Eudora's log.
Just check you are using the credentials as:
username@yahoo.com password
The TLD for yahoo might be .com, .co.uk, .es, .fr, .de, .au, etc, depending on how you signed up (from a year or so all are .com).
And the password, if you didn't do anything, is the account password, otherwise the app password (account area).
If I remember correctly there was no need anymore to enable POP3/IMAP access, but check it in the mail settings (web interface). And disable to allow only secure apps, or enable low security apps (I don't remember how they call it).
If you still experience problems. I have no clue.
In the past months there were a warning in user account area about banning "non-secure" apps, but I still can access, so, no clue what else can prevent you from log-in.
Regards.
