I'm not sure I understand what you want to accomplish.

If you just want to forward TCP port 80 to TCP port 8000 in order to
have the clients connect to port 80 while the server is listening on
port 8000, _without_ establishing a secure tunnel, then stunnel is not
the tool you are looking for. You might take a look at e.g. the
'redir' utility (http://sammy.net/~sammy/hacks/redir-2.2.1.tar.gz).

On the other hand, if you want to set up a secure tunnel, you wouldn't
want it to listen on port 80, which is the plain http port. When using
https, the users would still have to specify the port number
then. You'd want stunnel to accept connections on the https port 443
(and to connect to port 8000) then.
