There is a binary version of stunnel for Windows WITHOUT the gui, console/terminal only?
I have some different problems with the GUI edition: - - Fail to read filename with spaces? - - If is already in execution and i run stunnel.exe with some other parameters, they are ignored and simply give the focus to the current instance, so issue with launching multiple instances.
Why there isn't any console-only version, exacly like the standard linux distribution? The Cygwin version works great, but isn't portable, doesn't work without Cygwin environment.
There are some big trouble about that, or simply doesn't exists the .mak project file?
I'm also available to pay with a donation a build like that.
I'm waiting for feedback.

I need to distribute a portable zip with stunnel and config files, with a simple .bat for newbie. I can't ask to install/uninstall an NT service. Also, i don't think (not sure) STunnel require administrator privileges on the machine (if binded on port > 1024). Install/uninstall services require it.
What about running it as a service?

You can extract the files yourself to your local machine. AFAICT, stunnel installer makes no significant changes to the registry other than the Start menu. You can then setup your batch file to install as a service the first time if it detects that stunnel is not running as a service, or you can just tell it to launch minimized so it runs in the toolbar.

I use the program as you mentioned here while on a 64-bit Windows 7 OS. I simply extracted the files to a folder of my choice, modified the configuration file, opened a command window in this directory without needing to do so as Admin, and enter this command: "stunnel.exe conf". it then runs in the background without need for further attention from me.
